As Event Works, we run a few shows each year, and as Dorset Car Club attend a few shows each year.
Below you will find a list of the show and events that we run and attend. and you are more than welcome to join us at any of them.

Once again Dorset Car Club has been asked to help out at the American Dream, Poole Quay on Friday 24th August 2012
Poole Quay will be closed to “normal” cars from 6pm, and only our special marques of automobiles will be allowed. Iconic muscle cars, Detroit Iron, Cowboy Cadillacs, they will all be there.
As usual there will be 2 cruise routes onto the Quay, McDonalds, Wessex Gate and Baiter Car Park. Both leave at 5.50 to arrive on the Quay at 6pm.
This evening has got busier and busier over recent years, so dont miss out!

Poole Quay shuts at 6pm and the cars arrive. the sounds of V8s rumbling along the Quay, past the moored yachts on one side, the lively Quayside pubs on the other. The sun setting and the taste of fresh cooked chips …… What a way to spend an evening.

All American Car Drivers please note that you will not be allowed to stop on the Quay until the road is closed at 6pm. All display cars should arrive on the Quay from the lifting bridge end or the Old Town High Street. There is NO access from New Orchard. All vehicles larger than a Day van, should call Anne Simpson, Special Event Manager from Poole Tourism on 01202 262 537 to get special joining instructions. Note there are NO trading or Catering Opportunities at this event.

Wings and Wheels is Back at Henstridge Airfield!
Just a few miles from Sheborne and Shaftesbury, just off the A30, see the map below.
A great day out for the family with lots of great aircraft, great cars, a BBQ lunch and a nice relaxed garden party atmosphere.
A fantastic display of vintage and classic cars will be on show in front of the Henstridge Club House. With famous marques such as Buick, Marcos, Morris, Chevrolet and Ford all on show. The colours and chrome glimmer in the summer sunshine, so bright it is almost compulsory to wear sunglasses!
A few really nice trade stalls will be found here as well, offering a wide variety of books, tools, nostalgia items and general souvenirs.
We normally expect between 70- 100 aircraft on a good weather day. From sole survivors of their type to home builds, popular Moths and Vagabonds, they will all be found at Wings & Wheels. You will have a great view of all the arrivals, and of the airpark.
And ….. if you wish you can have a pleasure flight with Rise Helicopters over the local area for some really great views of the Blackmoor Vale!
As Henstridge Wings & Wheels is so highly regarded in aviation circles as one of the finest gatherings of vintage and classic aircraft, we are often visited by some fantastic aircraft.
In 2011 we were privileged to have the entire Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the Lancaster, The City of Lincoln, the Spitfire and the Hurricane pay us a visit! Rumor has it they will be on show again in 2012!!!
At lunch time we open the airpark to you, the visitor. This means that you can wander around all the arrival aircraft and get really close. But please don’t touch! Also don’t drop your rubbish in the airpark, it really can cause problems for the aircraft.
During this time, we often have radio controlled model aircraft flying, most impressive!
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, who are based at Henstridge Airfield usually pay us a visit during the course of the day….why not have a look at their great helicopter … close up!
Then all too quickly, it will be time to let the aircraft go, so they can return to their home airfield, or farm strips. Again you will have a great view of the departing aircraft.
Note that all outdoor events cvan be affected by the weather. Most of the aircraft due to be on show travel from many miles away, from all over the UK. Some with an airspeed of just 60 – 70mph and most should be drawing their pensions by now.Information for the Public (click to show/hide)
Public gates open at 10am on the day. Admission costs are £5 per adults, accompanied under 16s are free. Please note, NO DOGS, this is a live airfield! Limited disabled parking is available, we will try our best for you!.The airfield is mostly grass and can be uneven at times, please bear this in mind. Food and toilets are on site and parking is FREE.

Coast View Classic and American Car Show 2011

Coastview Holiday Park
Coastview Holiday Park, Torquay Road, Shaldon, Teignmouth, TQ14 0BG.
A great show staged on one of the best Holiday Parks in the South West, with great views across Torbay.
We do tend to make a long weekend of this show! Arriving on the Friday and staying in one of the lodges. You can however take your tent or caravan or stay in one of the static caravans on site.
Friday evening, and we meet up with friends whom we have not seen since last year, and drink and eat and enjoy the evening entertainment laid on by the Park.
Saturday we will be meeting in the club house for the treasure hunt. A great fun drive through the great scenery of South Devon. The treasure hunt usually finishes somewhere where we can eat and drink. The afternoon is then spent on a gentle cruise into Torquay then back to the Park, where the swimming poole awaits those who fancy it!
Saturday night is in the club house. this is where the inter club competition really starts! Fun games, some food and drink, more games and music, live entertainment, Charity auctions and raffle, Day Vans parked outside with all the lights on, and then party on into the night.
Sunday is show day up on the top field. The competitions continue here,car docking, wheel changing,beer crate carrying, wheely bin challenge and more.
And all the cars to look at, and a few stalls to spend what is left of your money. Car competitions and trophies are handed out at the end of the day.
Sunday night is back to the Club House, more live entertainment, and the all important Interclub competition results.
Monday morning arrives, all too soon, and we have to leave ….. ah well, not too long till next year!

Berkshire 4 x 4 Motor Show
20th - 21st August 2011 at 9:30am
Anyone can join in from 4×4 clubs, Car clubs, Military vehicles, Classic car’s or have any type of 4×4 or 6×6, Bikes, Trucks, Custom vehicles, Hot rods, to name a few.
We will look to get a club stand, there will be a small cost of £10 per vehicle. this will go to the show’s charities. There is space and passes for 5, FIVE, show cars and the first to book with me will be on the stand. All done via email and or Face Book.

Wykefest Food & Beer Festival

Wykefest is a great Beer and Food Festival f organised by Value House Stores and Julia’s House Children Hospice, with all profits going to this worthy cause.(£5,000 in 2010) Now in its third year, the event keeps growing and in 2011 will have over 50 real ales and ciders to tempt visitors.
BEER FESTIVAL
Over 40 real ales and ciders, great live bands and Hog Roast.
FOOD FESTIVAL
On Saturday ,cookery demo’s from top local resturants and chefs. Over 30 food and craft stalls. Hot food. Children’s entertainment and Jazz Band.
FREE BUS from Weymouth town centre.
The FREE bus runs during the whole festival from 6.pm – 11pm on Friday evening and then all day on Saturday from 10.30am – 11pm.

This show is now in its 13th year and is moving to a new venue in Chickerell.
Members of Dorset Car Club will once again be attending this great show in force.
There will be Vintage and Classic Tractors, Cars, Motorcycles, Commercial and Military Vehicles. Large and Small Steam Engines, Trade and Charity Stalls Craft/Model Marquee, Beer Tent, Fast Food, and Vintage Bus Rides and Children’s Funfair.

Rallye Sunseeker 2011

Once again Dorset Car Club has been asked to attend this great event. We will be found right by the action at Somerley House! Why not join us at the 2011 Rallye Sunseeker.
Rallye Sunseeker 2011 marks the 26th year of the Poole/Bournemouth area hosting a round of the National Rally Championship.
The event had small beginnings more than 35 years ago, since when it has been built it into the biggest rally staged in the south of England

Due to the cancellation of the Hampshire Pageant of Motoring it was decisded that we should do something …. so C-CARS was relaunched. A FREE event, somewhere to park your car and see a few others, and we just dont know how many! See you there.
